Hopernaut app · Last updated: 30 September 2026

Deutsche Version

1. In short

  • Hopernaut needs no account and has no server of its own. We do not receive any personal data from you.
  • Your game progress (record, coins, in-game shop items, daily flight streak, achievements) and your settings are stored only on your device.
  • The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner and – only if you tap to watch one – short videos. Only for that is data shared with a third party (Google). Personalised ads are shown only with your consent.
  • If you are signed in to Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android), the app can post your reach to leaderboards and unlock achievements.

3. Data that stays on your device

Game progress and settings

Your game progress – your record, your coins, what you unlocked in the in-game shop, your daily flight streak and the achievements you reached – and your settings (sound, music, vibration, language) are kept in the app's local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Deleting the app deletes all of this data. Coins and shop items are an in-game currency only; no real money is charged for them.

Vibration and sound

Vibration is triggered directly through the operating system and sounds are generated in the app. No data is stored or transmitted in the process.

4. Advertising with Google AdMob

To keep Hopernaut free, the app shows a banner ad. After a flight you can also choose to watch a short video to keep flying or to double your coins. For this we use Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

What data is processed

  • IP address (and an approximate location derived from it, e.g. the country)
  • Device information such as model, operating system and version, language setting
  • Information about the app and the ads, e.g. which ad was shown, tapped or watched to the end
  • Your device's advertising identifier (“IDFA” on iOS, “Advertising ID” on Android) – only with your consent

Purposes

Google uses this data to serve ads, limit how often they appear, prevent fraud and measure reach. For the videos, Google also tells the app whether you watched to the end, so that you get the reward. Only if you consent is the data also used to tailor ads to your interests (personalised advertising).

Consent and legal basis

On first launch the app asks, via a consent form provided by Google, whether you agree to personalised ads. On iPhone, the system also asks whether the app may track your activity across other companies' apps (“App Tracking Transparency”).

  • Personalised ads and access to the advertising identifier are based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; for users in Germany also § 25(1) TDDDG).
  • If you decline, the app still shows ads, but without personalisation. The processing needed for that is based on our legitimate interest in offering the app for free (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, with effect for the future: in the app under Settings → Privacy → Privacy settings. On iPhone you can also control tracking under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Transfers to the USA

Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has found an adequate level of data protection.

5. Leaderboards and achievements (Game Center, Google Play Games)

Hopernaut can offer worldwide leaderboards and achievements through Apple Game Center (iPhone) or Google Play Games (Android). Only if you are signed in to that service on your device does the app post your reach after a flight and report achievements you reached. Other players then see your player name and reach on the leaderboards. Nothing is sent if you are not signed in.

Apple and Google are responsible for these services under their own privacy policies. We do not receive any data about you in the process. You control signing in and the visibility of your profile in your device settings or in the Google Play Games app.

6. App Store and Google Play

When you download Hopernaut, Apple or Google process data (e.g. your account information) under their own responsibility and privacy policies. From them we only receive aggregated, anonymous statistics (such as download numbers) and – if you allowed it on your device – anonymous crash reports.

7. No other services

We use no analytics or tracking services other than those listed. We do not sell data or share it with any other third parties.

8. Children

Hopernaut is not directed at children. Users under 16 should agree to personalised advertising only with their parents' consent.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to

  • access your data (Art. 15),
  • rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17),
  • restriction of processing (Art. 18),
  • data portability (Art. 20),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21),
  • withdraw consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)),
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (Art. 77).

As we do not store any personal data about you ourselves, requests usually concern the advertising data held by Google or the leaderboards at Apple or Google. Feel free to email us at kontakt@auruminteractive.de anyway – we will help.
